SPRING-CLEAN YOUR HOME WITH THESE 10 SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTS
1. Organize your items and clear out the room
Before diving into the spring-cleaning process, start by clearing out your bathroom.
This is the perfect time to declutter your storage spaces, Sarah McAllister, the founder and CEO of GoCleanCo, told Fox News Digital.
"Take it one drawer or cabinet at a time. Take everything out, vacuum and wipe the drawer, and then only put back the things you need and use," McAllister said. "Take this opportunity to check expiration dates and organize your items as you put them back. If you haven't used it in six months, it's time to get rid of it."
Organize your remaining essentials neatly, utilizing storage solutions like baskets, trays and drawer dividers to keep things tidy and accessible.
Additionally, be sure to have products on hand to ensure an efficient and swift cleaning process.
Consider stocking up on necessities such as paper towels, a toilet brush, disinfectant spray, a bucket for soapy water, rubber gloves, a mop, a vacuum, a floor cleaner and a duster.

Having these tools readily available will streamline your cleaning efforts and help you achieve optimal results in less time.
Next, identify the areas of your bathroom that require the most cleaning and strategize how to address them.
Clearing surfaces of clutter will allow easier access for scrubbing and removing other items, such as mats and laundry.
Utilize a container to gather your toothbrush, mats, rugs, laundry and any other clutter from the bathroom, then relocate it outside the room.
Take advantage of this opportunity to run your bathroom floor mats and shower curtains through the wash. By the time you've finished cleaning the room, these items should be ready for the dryer.

Once you've cleared away clutter, it's time to give your bathroom a deep cleaning.
Start by focusing on the countertops, sink and faucets.
Before using any cleaning solution, use a dry cloth to remove any dust or dirt from the surface. Then use an all-purpose cleaner or a mixture of vinegar and water to wipe down these surfaces, removing any buildup.
Safety precautions are critical when using chemical cleaners.
"Do not mix cleaners, period," McAllister said. "Remember to ventilate the area you are working in. Open windows and run exhaust fans. Always rinse your surface with a clean wet cloth in between chemicals and cleaners."
You can go a step further by purchasing nontoxic cleaning products in stores.

3. Rinse the shower and bathtub
When it comes to sprucing up your bathroom, the shower or bathtub often require special attention.
"Check the caulking around sinks, baseboards and showers," McAllister told Fox News Digital. "When it’s looking worn, cut it out and replace it. Sealing your grout about every six months will keep it looking cleaner longer and help it to last as well."
Begin by meticulously examining the surfaces for any signs of buildup. Pay close attention to corners, seams and grout lines, where mold and mildew tend to accumulate over time.
Armed with a disinfectant spray and an old toothbrush, scrub away at these stubborn areas.

"For clogged showerheads or taps, pour some vinegar into a bag, slide it over the faucet and secure with an elastic band," McAllister said. "After about 20 minutes, it should be softened enough to gently scrub and rinse."
This method is not safe for nickel fixtures, she added.

After the initial scrubbing, it's time to rinse. Use a handheld showerhead or a bucket of clean water to rinse the surfaces of the shower or bathtub.
In addition to focusing on the shower or bathtub, take a clean rag or sponge and wipe down surfaces such as the walls, tiles and fixtures to remove any lingering residue.
"We love using an electric scrubber with our water, bleach and Tide recipe for grout, McAllister said. "It really speeds up the process and saves your back. Just keep an eye on it and make sure it’s not damaging your tiles or grout. Always test a small spot first with all cleaning products and make sure the product is safe for the surface you are cleaning."
By following these tips, you can achieve a refreshingly clean bathroom. Remember to maintain regular cleaning habits to uphold its pristine condition year-round.
