Another Ominous Echo From South Africa

In a post last month ("The South Africanization Of America"), we shared a thread by Will Tanner describing how the U.S. was following in post-Apartheid South Africa's footsteps.

Today, we share another thread from Tanner focusing on a specific example of that, America's embrace of Anarcho-Tyranny. "Anarcho-Tyranny" is a term that was coined by Sam Francis in the late 20th Century:

This condition, which in some of my columns I have called ‘anarcho-tyranny,’ is essentially a kind of Hegelian synthesis of what appear to be dialectical opposites, the combination of oppressive government power against the innocent and the law-abiding and, simultaneously, a grotesque paralysis of the ability or the will to use that power to carry out basic public duties such as protection of public safety.

Following Tanner's thread, we'll close with a brief market note.

In Case You Missed It

In a post on Friday ("The Final Countdown For Tesla"), we wrote about the political risk for Tesla (and Elon Musk personally) if Kamala Harris wins in November.

We used "The Final Countdown" in the title because that's the song we used in this TikTok demonstrating how Tesla longs could get paid to hedge this political risk out past the election.

As the last frame of that video shows, the net cost of our Tesla hedge was negative, meaning you would have collected $2,350 when opening the trade.

The quick demo in the video uses two of the Portfolio Armor iPhone app's in-app subscriptions, one that enables you to scan for optimal collars, and one that enables you to change option expirations. We've since lowered the price of those in-app subscriptions to $2.99 each, so if you've downloaded the app already, give them a try.

And if you don't have the app yet, you can download it here, or by aiming your iPhone camera at the QR code below.
