Good Morning Team,

I hope you enjoyed the long weekend and 2024 is your best year ever!

1. Pullback Time - Futures are (finally) down ahead of Tuesday's open. Today is the first trading day of 2024 and we are seeing some profit taking (which is perfectly normal after a big move up). The key now is to see if this is another "healthy" pullback (shallow pullback in size and scope) or an unhealthy one (heavy selling that lasts a long time). 
   
2. Focus on the close, not the open: We are on track to open the day, week, and month, lower. From where I sit, that doesn't matter. I'm more focused on where we close. A weak open followed by a strong close is a bullish sign (on any of these timeframes).
   
3. Earning Season: Remember, it is a new quarter so around the corner (in a few weeks) earnings season will begin in earnest. 
   
4. Week Ahead:

   Monday - Markets Closed, Happy 2024!

   Wednesday
   ISM Manufacturing data
   Fed Meeting Minutes
   JOLTs Jobs data

   Friday
   ISM Non-Manufacturing data
   December Jobs Report
