Kentucky man running errands for mom wins $75,000 lottery prize

Oct. 25 (UPI) — A Kentucky man out running errands for his mother took inspiration from another customer at a store and bought a scratch-off lottery ticket worth $75,000.

Christopher Knopp told Kentucky Lottery officials he was running errands for his mother when he stopped at the Five Star store on Main Street in Lebanon.

Knopp said the customer ahead of him in line bought a $5 Cash Eruption scratch-off lottery ticket, inspiring him to do the same.

He scratched off the ticket’s barcode and scanned it, revealing the $75,000 top prize.

Knopp said he believes good karma helped him win the prize, as he recently won $20 from another scratch-off ticket and gave the cash to a person who was having trouble at the ATM. He said the man eventually paid him back, and that was the $20 bill he used to buy his winning ticket.

Knopp said his winnings will go toward paying off debts and buying a new house.
