My favorite bitcoin bear, Peter Schiff, takes on my favorite bitcoin bull, Larry Lepard, for all the marbles.
I wanted to get as close to putting the bitcoin issue to rest — one way or the other — as I could, so this weekend I invited two of my favorites onto a podcast to debate the topic, which they did for nearly an hour and a half at this link:
Peter Schiff is the CEO and Chief Global Strategist of Euro Pacific Capital, an SEC- registered investment adviser and a full-service broker/dealer. He is one of the few widely known economists and investment professionals to have spoken about the financial crisis of 2008 before it began. As a result of his views on the destructive nature of monetary stimulus, as well as his colorful views the U.S. economy and the financial markets, he has become one of the most widely recognized personalities in the economic world. He is known for his advocacy for free market economic solutions and for his preference for non-dollar and commodity-focused investments in countries with positive fiscal characteristics.
Lawrence Lepard manages the EMA GARP Fund, a Boston based investment management firm. Their strategy is focused on providing "Monetary Debasement Insurance". He has 38 years experience and an MBA from Harvard Business School. And he likes to curse.
You can listen to the entire 1.5 hour long debate this weekend at this link.
