An alleged would-be mass shooter in Crozet, Virginia, was killed Monday afternoon when a good guy with a gun drew his own firearm and shot the suspect.
The suspect allegedly opened fire near “Augusta Health clinic and…[a] Harris Teeter store,” wounding one person and killing another, WHSV reported.
The Albemarle County Police Department (ACPD) noted, “…Officers believe that the suspect began shooting in the parking lot, striking two others. A good Samaritan who was exiting Harris Teeter engaged the suspected shooter with their personal weapon.”
The ACPD added, “The suspected shooter was pronounced deceased at the scene. The good Samaritan was uninjured in the shooting.”
CBS 19 pointed out that witnesses said the deceased would-be mass shooter was using a rifle. The Daily Progress noted, “Two weapons were recovered from the parking lot, including the aforementioned rifle.”
