Fox News Anchor Harris Faulkner said Tuesday on “Outnumbered” that former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) could count votes well while discussing House Republican’s attempts to elect a speaker.
Faulkner asked, “When do we know next steps?”
Senior Congressional Correspondent Chad Pergram said, “Well, that’s what they’re trying to sort out now. If they feel they have votes, they would go to the floor. This is what you always do on Capitol Hill. If you think you have votes and you think you can win, you go to the floor. You don’t sit around and say, ‘Let’s vote at three o’clock on Tuesday’ or something like that.”
He added, “You might have to have whipping going on here where Tom Emmer as nominee, he is the whip and needs to make sure he has the votes lined up. If you are the whip, you are supposed to be able to count the votes right on the vote on the floor, and sometimes that’s been an Achilles heel for Republicans lately.”
Faulkner said, “Yeah, you know who did it well? Boy, she could count votes – Nancy Pelosi. And Republicans watched that from across the aisle with awe and frustration sometimes.”
