Olympics gender controversy: Should biological males compete against women?
Debate over the biological sex of a boxer who won a women's match at the Olympic Games is sweeping the globe. Here's what Americans have to say about the issue.
Algerian boxer Imane Khelif defeated Hungarian Anna Luca Hamori in a 66-kilogram Olympic boxing match on Saturday, via unanimous decision.
Khelif, one of the two boxers who previously failed a gender test, will move to the semifinals and faceoff against Thailand’s Janjaem Suwannapheng.
Khelif is now guaranteed a medal as two bronzes are handed out to two the losing Olympic semifinalists.
