Nov. 18 (UPI) — Election denier Kari Lake has reached a settlement in a defamation case brought against her concerning her failed Arizona gubernatorial run in 2022, according to reports.

Lake, who lost the 2022 contest for Arizona’s governor’s mansion by more than 17,000 votes, failed to concede, alleging election fraud without proof.

Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer, a fellow Republican, filed a lawsuit against Lake last year, accusing the former TV anchor of defaming him by lying about his role in the election, which caused him to receive death threats.

Lake repeatedly claimed that Richer had counted 300,000 invalid votes in the race she lost to current Arizona governor, Katie Hobbs.

The conditions of the settlement are confidential, with The Washington Post being the first to report that an agreement between Lake and Richer had been reached. Both the Arizona Mirror and The Hill reported confirming statements from either Richer or his representatives.

“Both sides are satisfied with the result,” Richer told The Hill in a text message.

Lake’s lawyer, Dennis Wilenchik, told NBC News, “We are pleased.”

Lake — one of the staunchest supporters of Donald Trump’s “Big Lie” that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from him — never conceded that she lost the gubernatorial race to Hobbs.

Earlier this month, she lost a Senate race to Rep. Ruben Gallego, a Democrat. Last week, she published a video online thanking her supporters, but stopped short of conceding.
