Ukraine now claims to hold at least 80 Russian settlements, and some 120,000 Russian citizens have been forced to evacuate Kursk oblast, in a cross-border operation approaching two weeks at this point, which has left Kremlin leaders stunned. A very interesting revelation concerning Ukraine's ongoing invasion of Russian territory was buried in a recent lengthy NBC News report.
A Ukrainian official has disclosed that planning for the Kursk operation had been on for at least a year. The Friday report said, "Another senior adviser to the Ukrainian government, who is not authorized to speak publicly, told NBC News the idea for an operation like the surprise Kursk assault had been on the table for more than a year."
If such a massive cross-border raid had indeed been a military 'option' for more than a year, then surely US intelligence or the Pentagon knew about it. US intelligence has worked hand-in-glove with Ukrainian counterparts since the very start of the war in Feb. 2022.
