Jan. 30 (UPI) — Lionsgate is giving a glimpse of the new film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.
The studio shared a trailer for the action-comedy Tuesday featuring Henry Cavill.
The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is directed and co-written by Guy Ritchie and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.
The film is based on recently declassified files from the British War Department and is inspired by the first-ever special forces organization formed during World War II by then-U.K. Prime Minister Winston Churchill and a small group of military officials.
Cavill plays Gus March-Phillips, the leader of a top-secret combat unit made up of “a motley crew of rogues and mavericks.” The group goes on “a daring mission against the Nazis using entirely unconventional and utterly ‘ungentlemanly’ fighting techniques.”
“Ultimately their audacious approach changed the course of the war and laid the foundation for the British SAS and modern Black Ops warfare,” an official description reads.
Eiza González, Alan Ritchson, Alex Pettyfer, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Babs Olusamokun, Henrique Zaga, Til Schweiger, Henry Golding and Cary Elwes also star.
The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare opens in theaters April 19.
